Do you want to reach out to your community and make a difference?

The Furnace’s Teen Advisory Boards offer teens a chance to speak up on issues that concern them and their peers within their community as well as providing a teen perspective on The Furnace programs. The Teen Advisory Board is for high school students only.

If you want to be part of an organization where teens are the focus and where you can truly make a difference, join us the 1st Tuesdays of every month during the school year. Please fill out the application in the section below and email it to info@thefuranceteenceter.org.

The Furnace Teen Center is a testament to our commitment to a lifelong journey of learning as well as spiritual growth and development. Our programs are designed to nurture not only cognitive skills but also emotional intelligence, creativity, and spiritual and personal growth while holding true to biblical morale and standards.

Role

The Furnace Teen Advisory Board purpose is to express the ideas of youth and fill the gap between The Furnace leadership and its youth.

Purpose

  • Work as a team with the Executive Director to address issues relating to youth in the community.

  • Assist in planning, promoting and implementing of programs and services for youth.

  • Plan and participate in community service activities which benefit the community.

  • Study teen concerns, activities and concerns of youth especially as they relate to programs or projects of The Furnace.

  • Act as an advocate for youth and teens

  • Review programs and events referred to by the leadership, discuss and make appropriate recommendations to the leadership.

Meetings

  • Meets 1st Tuesday of each month during the school year 

    • Teen Advisory Board – 6 pm-8 pm

Membership & Application

Any member of The Furnace who will be entering 9th through 12th grades during the committee term. Applications for the school year are open until all 9 spots are filled.
